We are a friendly and welcoming carpet bowls club who meet every Thursday evening at the Highwoods Community Centre. As well as featuring strongly in the local leagues we have a well attended club night with four carpets in use. We also arrange a number of club competitions and fun days throughout the year.

Club Activities

Club Nights

With four mats in use the usual format for the evening consists of two games of seven ends followed by a chat and drinks break and concludes with a further game of seven ends.

Club Competitions

The Club organises various competitions during the year in which all members are eligible to take part.

League Matches

We play matches in the Colchester League of the Essex CBA.

Home matches are played on a Friday evening at our usual venue.

County Competitions

Club members regularly take part and do well in competitions organised by the Essex County Carpet Bowls Association. Many of these competitions are held at the Gt Bentley Community Centre.

Social Events

Two or three times a year Social Events are arranged usually involving novelty themed bowls games, followed by food and drink provided by the Club.
