25th July 2018 - Highwoods Summer Singles league team played their last match of the season last night (Tuesday 24th July) in their 'new' summer hall, whilst their normal hall is being revamped
It proved good for Highwoods with a 6-3 victory over Walton guaranteeing them 2nd place in the league

Brenda Kettle 18-5
Sheila Near 15-6
Carol Curd 11-7
Jackie Youngs 8-7
John Minney lost his match on a tie break and their were defeats for Yvonne Witney & Diane Orrin

20th July 2018 - The Highwoods Summer Singles League team had a narrow 4 - 5 defeat at Paxmans
Good wins were recorded by
John Minney 11-1
Colin Hawkins 9-5
Sheila Near 16-2
Peter Orrin 10-5
Diane Orrin/Yvvonne Witney/Brenda Kettle all lost narrowly
But special thanks go to Terry Reeves & John Woodrow who stood in at late notice and played their first games of the season. Both played exceptionally well and only just lost out in close matches
The team remain in second place going into the last match
next Tuesday at home against Walton
3rd July 2018 - The Highwoods Summer Singles team just lost out in a close home match against Dedham last night 3/7/18. Losing 4-5 this leaves the team in second place just 3 points off the lead..

Margaret Brown winning 13-3
Jackie Youngs winning 9-7
Peter Orrin winning 7-6 on the last end
All of the defeats were close with Carol Curd losing 3-8 and Glenyce King, John Minney, Colin Hawkins & Greg King all losing on the last end and all by the same score 7-8.
19th June 2018 - The Highwoods Summer Singles league team remain top of the Colchester league but a difficult away fixture at Dedham on 19th June saw them lose 3 - 6. It could have been at least one more victory with Carol Curd just losing out on the last end of a tight games
Wins were recorded by Glenyce King, Sheila Near & Diane Orrin
The team remain in a good challenging position with three games to go, two at home.
7th June 2018 - We played a further Summer Singles League match away at Elmstead Market and came away with an outstanding 7 - 2 victory. It was a great team performance.
29th May 2018 - Highwoods winning start in the Summer Singles League came to a halt on Tuesday 29th May when they lost a close match by 4 - 5 at home to Paxmans.
Good wins were recorded by Greg King 11-3, Brenda Kettle 8-5, Diane Orrin 9-6, Colin Hawkins 16-6.
Some narrow defeats on the last end proved the difference with Sheila Near losing 7-8 in the best and closest match of the night & Margaret Brown losing 5-8 in another close match. Defeats were also suffered by Carol Curd 6-12, Glenyce King 5-10 and Yvonne Witney 7-13
21st May 2018 - Highwoods Summer Singles League team played their second match of the season away at Walton on Monday 21st May 2018
The team followed their excellent start with another win this time by 5-4
Walton are a strong team especially at home and it was a great team performance to come away with a victory
Wins were recorded by Greg King 12-4 - Glenyce King 10-7 - Peter Orrin 10-3 - Diane Orrin 9-6 - Jackie Youngs 8-4
Three of the other four games were close with only one well beaten

1st May 2018 - The Highwoods Summer Singles league team played their first match on Tuesday 1st May 2018 at home against Elmstead Market.
They had a great result to start the season winning 7 - 2 and recording 105 shots with 55 against
In the first session it was three wins to get the team off to a great start
Carol Curd won 16-2
Jackie Youngs won 11-4
Diane Orrin won 14-8
The second session saw two further wins and a narrow defeat to consolidate the match
Colin Hawkins won 15-7
Greg King won 7-6
Yvonne Witney lost 7-12 but a close game did not reflect the score
The third session saw another two wins and a further narrow defeat
Peter Orrin won 17-2
Brenda Kettle won 11-4
Sheila Near lost 7-10 on the last end
