This year's Summer Tea Fours Competition took place at the Highwoods Leisure Centre on 7th July.
Thirty four members shunned the glorious weather to attend this year and a fun afternoon was enjoyed by all.
Following a draw to establish the teams there were four rounds of matches with each member playing in three of the rounds. As usual all of the matches were played in a friendly but competitive spirit.
At the end of the last round two teams had scored maximum points so the team with the higher shots scored was declared the winner.
In this the Club's 25th anniversary year the trophies were presented by Stan Stubbings, one of the longest serving members.
The winning team players were Carol Curd, Jackie Youngs and Peter Orrin (Skip). 6 points, 23 shots.
The runner up team players were Brenda Kettle, John Woodrow and Diane Orrin (Skip). 6 points, 19 shots.
The third placed team players were Keith Waters, Gill Spurgeon, Sheila Near and Colin Hawkins (Skip) 4 points, 20 shots.
Following the Competition everyone sat down to a lovely strawberry tea organised by committee members. The afternoon was concluded by the presentation of trophies and words of thanks for the organisers.
