On Sunday 8th October we held our AUTUMN TRIPLES COMPETITION , followed by a two-course sit-down meal.
In the Competition, late withdrawals led us to have 12 Triples and 2 Pairs playing, with everbody having four games of six ends minimum. The Competition started at 10.40am and by the time all qualifying games had finished, it was 2.00 p.m. The two groups of Seven Teams provided the following semi-finals:
WINNERS OF GROUP 1: CHRISTINE WOODROW, GILL SPURGEON, MARTIN BENNET

RUNNERS-UP GROUP 2: SUE MILLER, MARY MARTIN, GLENYCE KING
WINNERS OF GROUP 2: STAN STUBBINGS, JOHN MINNEY
Versus
RUNNERS UP GROUP 1: MARILYN BENNET, DAVID RULE, DIANE ORRIN
The semi-finals resulted in wins for SUE, MARY & GLENYCE and STAN & JOHN.
A closely contested final (7 ends), which was 5-5 after 6 ends, was eventually won by STAN STUBBINGS and JOHN MINNEY, with a combined age of over 180!! Many congratulations to STAN and JOHN.
We then took our seats for a sumptuous two-course dinner, provided and served by Jan & Mike from Norwich - caterers who have supplied our ctering needs over the past five years.
Presentations were made to the Winners and Runners-up and we all departed, thoroughly satisfied, by 5p.m.
An enjoyable day all round again, thanks to all who attended.
